| The Labels Melissa Velia l M.Velia l Graciano Designer Melissa Velia brings a unique feel of vintage inspiration, feminine glam and touches of modern trends into each of her labels. From feminine silhouettes to fine details, Melissa Velia designs with the motto "make a statement" in mind. Each label falls under different price points, giving every woman the option to be fashionable. The Designer Designer Melissa Velia began designing and sewing her Barbie dolls new wardrobes at the age of 7. "My mother taught me to sew with a needle, some thread and tons of fabric scraps." Melissa Velia recalls. It was then, that her life-long passion for fashion and the industry began. Coming from humble beginnings, Melissa was forced to work while she attended fashion college. It was during that time, she began her career in the fashion industry and landed a position with BCBG in their corporate showroom. Later, Melissa went on to work for several well-known brands and eventually designed for an LA based clothing company, where her designs were worn by celebrities such as Tyra Banks, Hilary Duff and Faith Evans. In 2010, after 9 years in the fashion industry, Melissa Velia was ready to branch out on her own and established her own clothing labels. Today, she continues to evolve in the art of fashion. Melissa Velia has become an international designer with sales all around the world. In the future, Melissa plans to not only extend her clothing labels into boutiques but establish a foundation for juvenile depression, a cause close to her heart. |
